Drought in Texas

It has been an unbearably hot and dry summer here in Texas.  I was looking at my post from last fall.  Everything is so different this year.  We don’t even have morning fog, instead we have evening smoke.  The airs smells like a giant BBQ burning out of control.  So many have lost so much.
Everything is scorched, all the grass is dead.  The cows are hungry and hay is hard to find and very expensive.
The bayou that I grew up on is non-existent in places.  The fish are gone.  The memories remain, along with the prayer for rains to come – soon!
Please join myself and other bloggers from Texas http://texas-blogginggals.blogspot.com/2011/09/please-pray-please-join-us-in-praying.html in a prayer for relief.

  2. Those are great photos to capture the drought. While you're having drought, we're getting flooding! Wish we could send some of this rain your way. I'll have to get my camera out to capture some of this -- it's crazy!

  4. Your daughter's images are terrific! I should do a post about this too. The problem is having to go out and take the pictures in this heat.
